Best walks in Slovenia is a one-week walking holiday through some of Slovenia's most breathtaking landscape. It is perfect for the hiker who prefers to amble along on short, easy walks each day in order to fully explore the landscape and get a real feel for the Slovenian outdoors. We'll hike along well-crafted trails through the lush green countrywide of western Slovenia.

You’ll walk trails that gently ascend to the high mountain pastures and meadows, which you'll then cross before heading into the dense forests of the Triglav National Park. Here we'll take you to the best viewpoints of the Julian Alps. The trail will then go past beautiful glacial lakes, valleys and crystal clear rivers. But that's not all. As we head west, we will descend from the alps to the limestone world of the Slovenian Karst. Here we'll visit the mysterious caves that have been carved out over billions of years by the underground water table. After 8 days of walking through wild countryside, we can soothe our tired feet in the salty water of the Adriatic Sea and explore the interesting Venetian architecture along Slovenia's modest but fascinating stretch of the Adriatic Coast.

Places you'll see

You'll start in Slovenia's green capital city Ljubljana with its hilltop castle and leafy riverside walkways. Then we'll head off through the alpine towns of Bled and Bohinj with their blush-green lakes, along with the enchanting town of Bovec in the heart of the Soca Valley with its soaring mountain backdrop. The medieval seaside town of Piran, which grew with the aid of salt, will provide a glorious, relaxing end to your trip.
