Discover the immense beauty of the Slovenian Alps on this 8-day group hiking holiday. Your experienced local guide will take you along some of Slovenia’s most scenic hiking trails. This guided hike is ideal for seasoned hikers who want to trek along a variety of trails across rugged high mountain terrain, and take in the breathtaking views it will reward you with.
This hiking trip is a combination of a technically easy 3-day hut-to-hut tour, day hikes and treks in the foothills of the Slovenian Alps. On this trip, you’ll visit the lovely Triglav National Park and the rolling green hillsides of the Soca valley. The tour will begin in Ljubljana, one of Europe’s greenest capital. Here you can spend your first day strolling along the leafy riverside walkways and sip a beer in its many bars, or hike up the hill to the castle overlooking the city centre, climb the stairs to the old clocktower and get an unrivalled view of the mountainous landscape you are about to head into.
Once we reach alpine Slovenia, we'll hike hut to hut across the mountains before descending through rich pastureland to the cool glacial lakes Bled and Bohinj. After trekking over the pass into the Soca Valley, we'll head into the land of vineyards where we can taste great food and wine in Slovenia’s best wine region. Additionally, adventure lovers can experience outdoor adventures in Slovenia’s adventure capital, Bovec.
It’s also possible to extend the tour for a day to discover the caves of the magical Slovenian Karst and soak your tired feet in the lovely Adriatic Sea.
Some sections will include the best trails in Slovenia, like the Via Alpina Trail, Slovenian Mountain Trail, Alpe Adria Trail, Soca Trail and the Juliana Trail.
